On September 24th, a group of 34 students from 3rd year of secondary school at Colegio Virgen del Mar travelled to Germany, to the region of Thuringia. Thus, the Salzmannschule and Virgen del Mar school organized a one-week linguistic exchange program. It was a language and cultural integration trip, with several classes at the Salzmannchule, coordinated by the teachers: Susanne, Birgit, Andrea, and Carlos. The teachers from Colegio Virgen del Mar, Mr. Ángel and Miss Helena, were also the trip coordinators. Besides the German lessons, the students had the opportunity to visit the region of Thuringia. They visited the capital, Erfurt, and other important cities like Gotha and Weimar. During the weekend, they stayed with German families, which was a very essential experience. Some students also visited other cities like Berlin, Frankfurt, and Leipzig. They tried German food, improved their German, and made new friends. Now they are waiting for the German students to visit them at the end of March. Everyone is looking forward to welcoming them with open arms.

Solidarity with the DOMUND

From October 30 to November 17, the students have carried out the DOMUND Campaign to bring us closer to the reality that many families and people live in the world, families who do not have the same opportunities as we do. The College has been promoting this activity for more than 50 years.

This Campaign 2023 we have offered talks in class, research work on the DOMUND and also the Campaign of Economic Collaboration with the DOMUND. We even did a radio program promoting the DOMUND, where we interviewed the missionary sister Lilia Navarrete.

Together we are more and solidarity always uses the symbol more.
